Spinach Curry

Equipment

  • 1 Pressure Cokker
  • 1 Spatula
  • 1 Extra Bowl
  • 1 Extra Pan for seasoning

Ingredients
  

  • Water - 200 ml
  • Onion Small Size - 1 no
  • Tomato Small Size - 1 no
  • Garlic Cloves - 3-4 no's
  • Chili - 2 no's
  • Moong Dal/ Paasi Paruppu - 4tsp./ 20 g
  • Ghee for seasoning - 1 tsp.
  • Oil - 1 tsp.
  • Turmeric Powder - ¼ tsp.
  • Kolambu powder - ¼ tsp.

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the cooker
  • Now add 1 tsp. of oil in it. Let it heat for a while.
  • Now add finely chopped onion and chilli.
  • Fry the onion till it turns pale.
  • Then add Garlic cloves and tomato on to it.
  • Later add moong dhal and saute it for few more minutes.
  • Saute it for few minutes.
  • Then add spinach, salt, turmeric powder, kolambu powder on to it.
  • Now fry the ingredients for a while so that all are mixed well together.
  • Lastly add 200 ml pf water on to the ingredients.
  • Close the cooker and bring 3 whistles or allow it to cook at low flame for 15 mins.
  • Turn off the cooker and allow the whistle to release.
  • Now open the cooker and you can see spinach is cooked well.
  • Now take a small pan and preheat.
  • Add tsp. of ghee.
  • Next add mustard seeds and urad dhal.
  • Let it pop up for a minute.
  • Now turn off the flame and add this seasoning to the spinach.
  • For taste you can add ½ tsp. pf ghee on to the spinach at last which gives delicious aroma. (optional).
  • Your healthy spinach/Keerai Kootu/Keeari masiyal is ready to serve.

Notes

Saute it for few minutes
Then add tomato on to it.
Later add moong dhal and saute it for few more minutes.
Saute it for few minutes.
Then add spinach on to it.
Add required amount of salt on to it.
Now add turmeric powder and kulambu powder.
Now fry the ingredients for a while so that all are mixed well together.
Lastly add 200 ml pf water on to the ingredients.
Allow it to boil for 1 minute.
Close the cooker and bring 3 whistles or allow it to cook at low flame for 15 mins.
Turn off the cooker and allow the whistle to release and remove before opening the cooker.
Now open the cooker and you can see spinach is cooked well.
Now smash the spinach with spatula.
Note: Not too much.
Now take a small pan and preheat.
Add tsp. of ghee.
Next add mustard seeds and urad dhal.
Let it pop up for a minute.
Now turn off the flame and add this seasoning to the spinach.
Mix the seasoning well.
For taste you can add ½ tsp. pf ghee on to the spinach at last which gives delicious aroma. (optional).
Your healthy spinach/Keerai Kootu/Keeari masiyal is ready to serve.
