Place a pan and preheat it.
Pour and heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
Add the masala spices to the pan.
Sauté it for few seconds.
Add finely sliced onions and sauté until they turn golden brown.
Add chopped tomatoes.
Now add salt and cook the tomatoes until they become soft.
Mean while add the spices like garlic, ginger, green chilies, mint leaves, coriander leaves, pepper to the mixer jar and grind it to the coarse paste.
Once the tomatoes are smashed well add the paste on to it and mix well.
Sauté well until the raw smell goes.
Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, jeera powder, garam masala, curd and chicken and mix well.
Cook for another 2-3 minutes.
Add required amount of salt to the dish and sauté it for few minutes.
Now add 200 ml of water to the chicken and cook well.
Cook on high heat to reduce the sauce
Cover the pan with lid and cook on medium heat for about 10-15 minutes
Sauté until the chicken is cooked through and tender.
Cook for another few minutes to get a thicker thokku consistency.
Finally garnish the chicken thokku with chopped coriander leaves and turn off the flame.
Our delicious chicken thokku is ready to serve hot with rice, roti. chapati, paratha or bread.
