Equipment

  • 1 Spatula

Ingredients

  • Liver – ¼ kg
  • Oil – 2 tbsp
  • Sombu – 1/2 tsp.
  • Cardamom – 2 no's
  • Cloves – 4 no's
  • Cinnamon – 2 pieces
  • Onion – 200 grams
  • Tomato – 2 no's sliced
  • Water – 1 cup
  • Curry Leaves – 1 string
  • Ginger/Garlic Paste – 1 ½ tsp.
  • Chilli Powder – 2 tsp.
  • Turmeric – ¼ tsp.
  • Coriander Powder – 2 tsp.
  • Jeera Powder – ½ tsp.
  • Garam Masala – ½ tsp.
  • Pepper – 1 tsp.
  • Salt – as required
  • Coriander Leaves – finely chopped

Instructions

  • Wash the chicken liver thoroughly and cut it into small pieces and keep it aside.
  • Preheat the pan.
  • Add 2 tablespoon of oil.
  • Add Sombu, Cardamom, Cloves, Cinnamon on to it.
  • Sauté it for few minutes.
  • Add chopped onion.
  • Sauté until the onions turn golden brown.
  • Add 1 string of curry leaves on to it.
  • Add the ginger/garlic paste
  • And cook for 2-3 minutes until the raw smell goes away.
  • Add chopped tomatoes to it.
  • Add required amount of salt to it .
  • Cook until the tomatoes soften.
  • Add turmeric, chilli, coriander, jeera powder on to it and cook for few minutes until raw smell goes.
  • Now add liver on to the mixture and cook for 5 minutes.
  • Add 1 cup of water to it.
  • Now add garam masala and pepper powder to the gravy.
  • Stir everything together allowing the flavors to blend well.
  • Lastly let it cook until the desired consistency is reached.
  • Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with rice or roti.

Notes

Pictorial Guidance:
