Poori

Poori is a simple dish which can be made easily by anyone. This is one of my all-time favourites.

The dough for poori is made with simple ingredients – Wheat flour, water, Pinch of salt.

The dough is based on kneading. Remember one thing the dough of the poori should be little bit harder than chapati. You can make it puffy by adding even rava to the dough. But I have made it without adding rava. Let’s start doing the dish and see how it comes out.

Each bite is a taste of tradition, a textural sensation that pairs wonderfully with spicy curries or sweet chutneys. It's Indian cuisine at its finest!"

  • 1 Spatula

  • Wheat flour – 2 Cups
  • Salt – ¼ tsp
  • Water as required
  • Oil – ½ tsp

Instructions

  • Take a bowl and add 2 cups of wheat flour.

  • Remember the dough of the poori should be little bit harder than chapati.
  • Note we don’t want to cover and rest the dough. as we do for chapati.
  • Once dough is ready, roll the poori. The poori should neither be so thin nor thick.
  • Now place the pan on stove and pour required amount of oil to it
  • Heat well before you drop the poori into oil.
  • Drop the poori into the oil and let it become puffy on bottom side.
  • At that time flip the poori and cook on other side.
  • Once it is done on both sides remove it to plate and serve hot.
